What is Confirmation?
Confirmation is a life-changing event for every youth fortunate enough to participate. Just as youth need assistance to grow physically and academically, the purpose of a confirmation program is to assist the formation of faith in young people. They receive the wonderful surprise of discovering how their faith is a source for building character and learning to make wise decisions. The result is a young person better equipped to deal with peer pressure and other teenage challenges. The youth naturally grows to comprehend the teachings in the Bible and appreciate the many advantages of living according to Christian principles.
What are the main activities?
Tuesday nights (twice monthly) on the scheduled day at the church from 6:45-8:00pm. This is where the students learn why Christians believe what they do.
There also will be social and community outreach events. Past events have included: Feeding Children Everywhere food preparation, SkyZone, bowling, Laser Tag, camping, visiting nursing homes, paintball etc. Feel free to suggest other special events to Pastor Lantz.
The confirmation program is primarily for youth in 6th through 8th grades. Special classes can be prepared for students already in high school. The classes are open to all students 6th through 8th grade whether he or she attends church or not. Maybe there is a friend you can invite? For more information or if you would like to join the class, please contact Pastor Lantz at (firstname.lastname@example.org).
